Blue Rock Wedding | Washington, VA

What’s the best way to plan a wedding when you’re big foodies? Have a wedding at your favorite restaurant? Have lots of different tastes for you and your guests to enjoy? Maybe even curate your own menu? Thao and Lennie did all of that and more! This Blue Rock Wedding had a 5-Course Meal that was completely curated by themselves and Chef Aaron Bachoon and Chef Ebony Haywood. And Each dish was accompanied by a drink to compliment the dish. It was an experience.

Thao & Lennie wanted their wedding day to be simple but filled with intentionality as they invited a select number of friends and family to celebrate their day with them.

They began the day with a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony with their families. It was so emotional and beautiful to see them show such love and respect for their parents. Even when Thao was speaking Vietnamese I found myself getting emotional and I didn’t even know the words she was saying! But somehow the emotion was felt on a deeper level. They poured tea and shared it with their parents as they began the wedding day together as a new family unit; Thao & Lennie.

With two different attires for their day, a traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai and a white wedding dress with a black tux, the day brought so much joy and surprise! They had two first looks with each other and Thao had two first looks with her parents as well. It was if they were seeing with new eyes each time they saw each other. It was so meaningful and moments I know they will cherish forever.

And lastly, we can’t forget their beloved pup Gatsby. Gatsby had so many fun moments during their big day. He was there for the entire day walking around the inn as they celebrated their family together. It was so sweet to see Lennie walk with Gatsby down the aisle and I loved their late night pizza treats with Gatsby’s likeness on the box. But the best part of Gatsby’s presence was their dance together during the reception. That sweet pup was so happy to be held by his mama after a busy day.
