A perfectly sunny spring day. The simplicity of a small wedding. A family style meal at your favorite restaurant. This is what Juan & Lauren had for their DC War Memorial Wedding. Micro weddings can be just as special, if not more so, than a grand wedding.
When we chatted about their day on our initial consult Lauren communicated how she wanted her to day to feel: relaxed, intimate, and meaningful. And their day was all three of those things. From her handwritten notes to each guest, to their private moments together at the Jefferson Memorial before they said their wedding vows, each moment was full of peace and beauty.
They said their vows under the dome of the War Memorial as Juan’s Uncle spoke a word of encouragement to them from Psalm 18:22 “”He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord.” Coincidentally, Juan also used that verse in his personal vows to Lauren. It was God ordained from the start.
After their quiet ceremony they went over to the Barcelona Wine Bar with their closest family and friends and had some of the most delicious food I have had in the DC area (I recommend the meatballs and paella). The conversations were loud and full of joy. I wasn’t a part of the family and it felt like I was because the room was full of so much love.
Tears of happiness were shed during the toasts as Lauren’s sister and Juan’s brother shared encouraging words. Juan’s brother said that Lauren was getting the best version of his brother that he has ever known. I don’t know about you but when men show their emotional self it makes me feel emotional too! It was so beautiful to see.
Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Guerra! I pray that God blesses you with many years of love and joy together!
